Network Topology
Introducing Our
NETWORK TOPOLOGY SOLUTIONS
Regardless of how large or small your business is, you’re probably now using a network of interconnected devices, or nodes (such as computers, printers and phones), to handle most of your core processes. The layout of this network is your network topology, and it refers to how your nodes communicate with each other. Your network topology can have a dramatic impact on your business. It determines how quickly and securely you can transmit data between nodes and affects the chances of data getting lost. If you want to be able to run your business as efficiently as possible, now might be the time to give your network topology a rethink. At King Computer, we can create secure, fast and reliable networks for just about any business, whether you operate a university campus, global organisation or local company. Call us, and we’ll recommend the best solution for your requirements. Below, we look into the possibilities.

There are five basic types of network topology:
Mesh Topology
In a mesh network, all devices are essentially connected to each other, meaning that if one node fails, your network won’t be affected. Mesh networks are often the most expensive option, but they’re ideal for large companies that want to minimise redundancy and maximise bandwidth speeds.
Star Topology
In a star network, all devices are connected to a central computer, but not to each other, meaning all data must pass through the central hub. On the one hand, this means one problematic device won’t harm your entire network, but a problem with the central computer could cause downtime.
Bus Topology
In this network, the bus refers to one cable, which every device in the network is connected to. One break in the main wire can cause problems, but bus networks are affordable and often suitable for small companies.
Ring Topology
In a ring network, there is no central hub; all nodes are connected in a closed loop, meaning each node is connected to two other nodes. Any data transferred passes through each node.
Tree Topology
Tree networks rely on a central hub. While a problem with the central hub can lead to network failures, tree networks are often useful for large organisations that need to create smaller, interconnected networks that are easy to manage.
Contact King Computer to Perfect Your Network
At King Computer, our highly skilled and qualified IT technicians have the required knowledge to examine your network and offer recommendations that could help you improve productivity and data security while reducing your running costs. We’ll make sure your network lets you operate at 100% efficiency, enabling you to gain an edge over the competition.
As you can see from above, you need to take a lot of factors into consideration when installing or replacing your network. If you need any advice or would like to book a consultation, we encourage you to give us a call.
